WhatsApp Click to Chat is a convenient way for customers, followers, or other stakeholders to contact you via WhatsApp without needing to save your WhatsApp number. In this article, we explain how Click to Chat works.
Tip:
We have developed a WhatsApp Click to Chat generator to make it as easy as possible for you to create Click to Chat links or QR codes.
Creating Your Own Click to Chat Link
The first part of any WhatsApp Click to Chat link is always the same: https://wa.me/[WhatsApp-number]. It's important not to use any zeros, parentheses, or dashes in the WhatsApp number.
Example:
The WhatsApp number of Saysimple is +31 023 554 67 66. As a Click to Chat link, it looks like this: https://wa.me/31235546766
Do not use: https://wa.me/+310235546766 or https://wa.me/00310235546766
Click to Chat with a Predefined Message
You can also include a predefined message in the Click to Chat link. You do this by adding '?text=' after the URL. Between words, do not use spaces, but '%20'.
Example:
The text "Hello Saysimple" looks like this:
Click to Chat in Practice
You can then use the Click to Chat links on your website under a button or behind a QR code, for example. When the QR code is scanned from a mobile phone, a WhatsApp conversation opens immediately.
