What is the difference between a quick reply and a template?

A quick reply is a standard message that you can use quickly and efficiently for frequently asked questions. A quick reply can be created by anyone within an organization and does not need to be approved in advance. You may no longer use a quick reply (on WhatsApp) if the last customer message is older than 24 hours. The quick replies are therefore no longer shown in the platform.

A template is a standard message that must be approved in advance (by Whatsapp). A template serves to pick up a conversation that is older than 24 hours, or to initiate a completely new conversation with a user. Sending a template costs about 7 cents, payable to WhatsApp.
